I SO enjoyed reading your book. I also learned so much about the Civil War in Texas! I will not go to Galveston again without remembering. My daughter and I just returned from a trip to Dallas . On our return trip to Kerrville, we stopped in West at the Czech Bakery in honor of the characters in the book. As we were eating the kolache, I told Grace about how scarce flour was back then and what a treat this would have been for them. The ending was done very well. I also thought, as I passed the roling hills going 70 mph, how long it would have taken by wagon to get back to Kerrville! Thank you again for a wonderful read and history lesson.
