If you enjoy historical fiction whose goal is to present life as it was lived in another time and place, you will enjoy Invitation to Cat Spring.  Mary Frances  Bennett recreates the dreams, sorrows and daily routine experienced by her Moravian ancestors, daring to leave all that was familiar in the old world to create a new life, in the unknown region of Texas in the 1850s.  I came away from this well-told story with a deeper sense of the extraordinary courage of these ordinary folks
